I kept waiting for someone named Jones or Winters to show up, but who knows? Maybe a Jones or Winter will appear in the next installment.As with most of Krentz’s books of the last several years, the romance is secondary to the mystery. It’s a decent mystery, to be sure, but still...this isn’t a “Hidden Talents” or “Trust Me,” where the relationship between the two protagonists is the engine of the story.As another reviewer noted, the $13.99 is too expensive for a book that took me maybe 4.5 to 5 hours to read. Next time I am going to employ some self discipline and get it from the library first. If I love, love, love it, then I’ll pop for the Kindle version. Or wait till it is $2.99 as a daily deal. If you are a reader of Ms Krentz, you have read a version of this book at least a half a dozen times. It’s a rehash of the same psychic investigators in peril nonsense, just relabeled as the Foundation and Vortex instead of Arcane and Nightshade. She borrows a bit from her Jayne Castle persona as well. I had a hard time staying awake.
